Please let the chat applet load completly. It may take a few minutes to load.
STEP ONE: Type in the nickname you wish to use, and click Connect (leave all other fields as they are)
STEP TWO: (If you do not have a registered nickname, skip this step) If you are connecting with your registered nickname, a window will pop up for you to enter your password. While you may be able to chat without entering your password, you will not have any of the priveledges that you may be entitled to if you do not enter your password.
A REGISTERED NICKNAME IS NOT REQUIRED, BUT IT IS RECOMMENDED IF YOU USE THIS CHAT FREQUENTLY, THAT YOU DO REGISTER YOUR NICKNAME.
If you want to know how to set your nickname so that a password MUST be entered to be used, please ask shy_and_quiet. If you would like to learn how to register your nickname, please type "!help register" once you've joined the room, and Guardian_Angel will give you some instructions.
IF YOU'RE USING A REGISTERED NICKNAME: the "ConferenceRoom Channel Op" window MAY open, simply close it and then you should be able to chat.

I Don't Have a Password, Do I Need One To Chat?
No, you don't need to have a password in order to chat. Passwords are only used for those people who have registered thier nicknames and wish to identify themselves to the chat program.
Do I Need To Register My Nickname?
No, you don't need to register your nickname in order to chat. You can use any nickname that you wish, and it does not need to be registered to use it, though if someone else has already registered that nickname, you may not be able to use it. If you are a regular chatter here, it is recommended that you do register your nickname. But registering is not required.
I Want To Register My Nickname, Can You Tell Me How?
First of all, don't select any colors when you join.
Make sure you're using the name you want to register
Once you are in the room, in the same place where you would normally type messages, you need to type: /msg nickserv register password emailaddress
You need to use a password you will remember. Don't worry about typing it in the room, no one else will be able to see it. You don't have to use your real email address, any made-up email address will work. You can use your real one if you want, but you don't have to.
So.... if i wanted to use the password "jesus" and the email address noemails@thisaddress.com then to register i would type: /msg nickserv register jesus noemails@thisaddress.com
After you have registered your nickname, next time you join with that nickname, you will be asked to enter your password when you join the room. Type in the password you used....in the above example, it would be "jesus".
